Pilotbook: Pilot Logbook
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
The short version. Pilotbook doesn't collect any data about you. Your logbook lives on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud, and nobody else can read it, including us. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no account.
Where your logbook is kept
Your flights, simulator sessions, duties, roster, documents, signatures and settings are stored on your iPhone. So are the pilot details you enter for your logbook and its printed pages: your name, licence number, eGCA ID, date of birth, nationality and postal address. If iCloud is on for Pilotbook, they also sync through your private iCloud database, which belongs to your Apple Account. Apple runs iCloud under Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to your private iCloud data.
To keep your logbook on your iPhone only, turn off iCloud for Pilotbook in the iOS Settings app.
What leaves your iPhone
- Weather. When you look up weather, Pilotbook sends the airport code (for example
VIDP) to aviationweather.gov, the public US aviation weather service, to fetch its METAR and TAF. Like any website, that service sees your device's internet address. Pilotbook sends nothing else about you. - Maps. Route maps use Apple Maps, so Apple supplies the map images, under Apple's privacy policy.
- Purchases. Apple handles payment for Pilotbook Pro. Pilotbook only learns whether Pro is active, never your payment details.
- Files you share. A PDF, CSV or backup you export goes only where you send it.
- Crash reports. If you've chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports, under Apple's privacy policy.
What stays on your iPhone
- Ask your logbook and quick log are answered on your iPhone. So are Siri and Shortcuts questions about your logbook; Apple handles the Siri request itself.
- Scanning ACARS printouts and documents uses on-device text recognition.
- Face ID is handled by iOS. Pilotbook only learns whether it matched.
- Your calendar. Pilotbook reads the calendar you pick to import your roster, and never changes it.
- Photos. Pilotbook only sees the photos you pick to scan or attach, and only adds images you choose to save (Year in Flight and achievement cards). It can't browse your photo library.
- Reminders, widgets and the flight timer are worked out on your iPhone. Reminders are local notifications; nothing is pushed from a server.
If you email us
Writing to support@teralabs.sh sends us your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you, never for marketing, and we delete it on request.
Children
Pilotbook is made for pilots and student pilots. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
Your choices
There's no data with us to see, correct or delete, apart from any emails you've sent us. In the app you change or delete entries one at a time, and a deleted flight stays in Recently deleted for 30 days in case you want it back. There's no single "delete everything" button: to remove everything, delete the app. To remove its iCloud copy as well, open Settings → your name → iCloud, manage your storage, choose Pilotbook and delete its data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If Pilotbook ever starts collecting data, the app will say so before it does.
